These color-coded Solfege Music Magnets will help you teach your music students to recognize and master both the solfege syllables and Curwen hand signs. The smaller magnets are compatible with the Grand Staff Magnetic Board while the larger magnets can be used on any magnetic board for teaching and creating sight singing patterns off staff.

Teaching Ideas for Solfege Music Magnets

You will find many uses for these versatile solfege music magnets.

1. Use the small and medium sized music magnets on the Grand Staff Magnetic Board (fixed Do system) to create sight-singing exercises.
2. Use the solfege magnets with the alphabet magnets to help students learn note correlation.
3. Use the larger music magnets on any magnetic board (or even a music stand) to teach and create sight-singing patterns off staff.
4. Start with a basic solfege scale, then remove just one syllable and ask your student to sing it.
5. Progress to teaching students intervals.
6. Once the student has a solid understanding of solfege, you can allow them to create their own sight-singing exercise.
7. For a fun activity, have the student draw the magnets at random and place them on a magnetic board to create a unique sight-singing exercise!
